RAF Cosford Mini Project
Wings to the Past ran a mini project at RAF Cosford unit during Nov and Dec 21.
Wings to the Past were lucky to be partnered in this project by Bishops Grosseteste University and Network Archaeology. Network Archaeology provided our professional archaeological contractor support for 2019 so we are delighted to work with them again.
At the start of the project participants joined a series of on-line lectures given by Dr Derwin Gregory from Bishops Grosseteste University. These lectures detailed his work on Conflict Archaeology and the WWII infrastructure of the Special Operations Executive. There was also be an introduction to archaeology presented by Network Archaeology and the Wings to the Past team explained how Wings to the Past was created . Participants were also encouraged to undertake Dig School, created by one of Wings to the Past’s founding members, Professor Carenza Lewis - University of Lincoln.
